A Deadpool Variant Already Seen by Fans? Wicked Theory Solidifies the Easter Egg From 15 Years Ago

Deadpool & Wolverine is on the lips of every Marvel fanatic out there. Even with the movie right around the corner, they are still brainstorming theories every minute. The upcoming installment is about to blend both Wade Wilson and Logan into the MCU through a multiversal narrative. And with the multiverse comes the integration of the Time Variance Authority and Fox’s complex X-Men timelines. This means the cast might not only feature a bunch of X-Men and MCU cameos but could also bring in multiple variants of its titular characters.

This opens the door for the potential reappearance of a Deadpool variant, one fans have already seen before in the multiverse 15 years back.

In a recent episode of their Just The Nobodys Podcast, TikTok theorizers, Ryan and Daniel shed light on a Deadpool & Wolverine theory that not many people are talking about. Before Ryan Reynolds’ solo Deadpool movies took off, it was X-Men Origins: Wolverine that first brought Wade Wilson to the screen. In the 2009 film, the Weapon XI project mutated Wade Wilson into a voiceless creature with a range of mutations. And it seemed, Wolverine finished him off by beheading him.

In the post-credits scene of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, however, Deadpool's head is shown opening his eyes. Given the similarities between the eyes of Headpool in Deadpool & Wolverine merchandise and Deadpool's eyes during his surgery in Wolverine's first standalone film, there is a chance that Headpool is actually the detached head of Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. However, there is still one aspect that might make the chance of this happening less likely.

The 2009 Deadpool version might have already been done away with to allow for a comeback in the Shawn Levy-directed movie.

The odds of the Deadpool variant returning are still slim

In Deadpool 2, fans got to see the Merc with a Mouth making up for the mishandled Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a role Ryan Reynolds was reportedly threatened into playing. He crashed the ill-fated prequel's climax to fill the shirtless, katana-wielding version of Wade Wilson with bullets. In the theatrical cut, he even joked about fixing the timeline before bouncing off for more antics.

The concept of Deadpools taking each other out is not anything new. In fact, there is a comic series addressing just that, named, Deadpool Kills Deadpool. The comic featured countless Deadpool variants from different universes locked in a perpetual cycle of murder. Nevertheless, this certainly lowers the likelihood of the Deadpool variant from X-Men Origins: Wolverine making an appearance in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
