WWE 'Wrestlemania 42': Staff Pick and Predictions, Can Randy Orton Win His 15th in Las Vegas?

It is WrestleMania time once again, even though it does not really feel as such. The build has been disappointing, which may actually work in WWE’s favor, as fans will not be expecting much. Even so, expect Night 1 to be WWE and TKO listening to the fans to boost interest around Day 2.
The big rumor around this year's Mania is the possibility of seeing a WWE vs TKO feud being set up. But what is guaranteed is that the WWE has a chance to push the next generation of superstars and finally live up to what Triple H has been saying at least 5 times a year, i.e., “New Era.”
Our picks saw us choose Oba Femi, Je'Von Evans and Trick Williams to win their matches. But they were not unanimous. The World title matches also were not. That is what makes things fun, right?

Here is who we have winning on both nights of WrestleMania 42 from the Allegiant Stadium.
PS:- This list only contains the matches that are finalised as of today. We expect more matches to be added to the card for Night 2 to make it 7 on each night
Vision (Logan Paul, Austin Theory, IShowSpeed) vs Usos (Jimmy, Jey) and LA Knight
Reubyn Coutinho: This match seems like it is there just for an IShowSpeed appearance and a Logan Paul spot. LA Knight and the Usos will lose this match. It allows for a celebrity win and plants the seed for Jimmy and Jey to get involved in the main event on Night 2. Winner: The Vision and IShowSpeed
Aayush Sharma: This is one of the matches where there are no stakes involved. Easy to predict, right? Not at all. They are harder to predict and that is why I believe The Vision should have won the tag team titles. It would be exciting to see how IShowSpeed performs during the match and if this is the match that confirms that he is ready for WWE. However, when it comes to this match, The Usos and LA Knight are the favorites and I am going with them. Winner: The Usos and LA Knight.
Manorath Thacker: I smell a turn in this match, and it will not be the Usos turning heel, but the celebrity IShowSpeed turning on Logan Paul, and Austin Theory, i.e., The Vision, and sealing a win for the team of LA Knight and the Usos. The Usos heel turn might be saved for the Night 2 main event. This is the match that will produce the most viral clips and moments, thanks to the names in it. And this will be the perfect starter to have on first hour on ESPN, which can get the casual fan tuned in or the rest of the show. Winner: The Usos and LA Knight.
Jacob Fatu vs Drew Mcintyre (Unsanctioned Match)
Reubyn Coutinho: It is time for Jacob Fatu to cement himself as a man of violence at this event. This will be violent, possibly with a finish somewhere in the crowd; one that is similar to the Shane McMahon vs The Miz match at WrestleMania 35. And what about Drew? He will be out a while and come back to lay out the champion of his choosing. There is a story to be had against all 4 of the men in the world title matches. Winner: Jacob Fatu
Manorath Thacker: A match between men who just simply could not find anything else to do on the Mania card is sure to be violent, and it being on the first hour on ESPN is an assurance that this match is going to be amazing (I doubt if we will get blood, though). On paper, I think anyone can be a winner here, and I would have picked Drew any other day, but right now, Jacob needs to be built into a main event character, and Drew has his dates set for shooting Highlander in the coming months. So I see Jacob Fatu winning it in a brutal fashion, which can write Drew McIntyre off for a while and return with a big pop and go behind anyone he pleases. Winner: Jacob Fatu.
Aayush Sharma: I sometimes believe that even WrestleMania has matches that shouldn’t be there and this is one of them. No stakes, no story, just two men who want to just fight, fight, and fight till their last breaths. Both men are great at what they do and it is really hard to pick a winner in this, but I would choose Jacob Fatu because McIntyre might not be available for a while after this match and WWE needs people who could follow their WM victory with even better performances. Also, it’s Fatu’s moment to shine now. He deserves this moment. Winner: Jacob Fatu
Stephanie Vaquer vs Liv Morgan (Women's World Heavyweight Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: This is Liv Morgan’s moment, which will set up the Raw After Mania turn from Raquel. Winner: Liv Morgan.
Manorath Thacker: I will not be lying if I said that this is the best built match for the Mania, and it achieved that feat with simple, brutal, and crazy violence. It has been so much fun watching Liv and Stephanie beat each other up week in, week out that at this point, I won't be mad if either of them wins. I am just happy being a witness to this madness. Anyway, for the sake of it, I will predict Liv Morgan as the winner because it has been long overdue. Winner: Liv Morgan.
Aayush Sharma: This is a very tricky match to predict. On one hand, Stephanie Vaquer has been one of the finest female performers in recent history. On the other hand, Liv Morgan is one of the rare female wrestlers who keeps on getting better with each passing match. So, it is really hard to choose. In Triple H’s leadership, it is clear that he likes people holding the belt for a very long time and Vaquer has been the champion for over 200 days, so the Boss might want to extend that a bit. But personally, I would want to see Liv Morgan win this one. I predicted Morgan to win the Rumble and she did. Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed again. Winner: Liv Morgan.
AJ Lee vs Becky Lynch (Women's Intercontinental Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: AJ Lee losing on her return at WrestleMania looks less likely. This is night 1 and WWE tries to pander to the fans to boost Night 2’s ticket sales. Becky's win will see the WWE Universe up in arms. Also, the prospect of Lee dropping the belt to Roxanne Perez down the road is much more enticing. Winner: AJ Lee
Manorath Thacker: I would have wanted AJ to drop the belt, had she been an absent champion, and would have wanted Becky to win it so we can have a present champion. However, AJ has been fairly regular, and her winning at Mania and losing the title down the line to someone like Roxane Perez sure sounds amazing. But I don't think we’ll see Becky lose for the third time to AJ. I think Becky is going to win and maybe lose the title eventually by putting over a new face. Winner: Becky Lynch.
Aayush Shrama: Yes, part-timers do really well in WWE and WrestleMania. However, AJ’s win at the Elimination Chamber makes it clear that WWE has been paving the way for Becky Lynch to attain greatness. The rivalry has made it clear that it is Lynch’s match to lose and I do not think she is losing this one. Winner: Becky Lynch.
The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) vs Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella and Briefs Bella) (Women's Tag Team Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: This match exists just to get more names on the card. The only way stories progress is if Bayley and Lyra win. Winner: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
Manorath Thacker: A match that is as stacked as this one, it is, of course, very hard to predict a winner. However, I am going to side with Lyra Valkyria and Bayley purely because they have been telling a story, and a really good one at that. And since both of them were anyway on track to win it last year, but had their plans ruined thanks to Becky Lynch, I think 2026 is the year we get Bayley and Lyra as champions. Winner: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
Aayush Sharma: Well, it is that simple. Winner: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
Seth Rollins vs Gunther
Reubyn Coutinho: Both men lost at last year’s Mania, but we cannot have a returning Seth lose at the Showcase. It will be Gunther to take the pin in Vegas. This would allow the career-killer gimmick to kind of fade. Can we have AJ Styles come out and cost Gunther? That would be a WrestleMania moment. Winner: Seth Rollins.
Manorath Thacker: This is one of those matches where I think none of them can afford a loss. If Seth loses, he gets nerfed right before his impending feud with Bronn Breaker, which is most likely going to be paid off at SummerSlam. On the other hand, if Gunther loses, his moniker of “Career Killer” is made into a joke. So I predict that we will be getting a return of Bronn Breaker at the Mania in some way or a distraction or a shenanigan that distracts Rollins, Gunther will sneak in a win. Thus, protecting Seth while taking a loss. Winner: Gunther.
Aayush Sharma: One of the matches that I cannot wait to see. Gunther and Rollins are two of the best performers out there right now and seeing them going against each other will be exciting. Both men lost their matches at last year’s event and they will be looking to change that. Rollins seems to be heading to a different direction, with his feud with Bronn Breaker likely to move ahead and possibly ending at Summer Slam. Meanwhile, Gunther needs to protect his own larger-than-life identity in the WWE and not lose a match that might downgrade his “legend killer” personality. Winner: Gunther.
Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)
Reubyn Coutinho: We need a heel champion. A heel with the belt makes for a much more compelling story with the Babyface overcoming the odds to reclaim the belt. Yes, Rhodes will destroy McAfee in the course of the match, and that will allow for the punt. Yes, Randy will have to go to that place, something far deeper than where he usually goes. Winner: Randy Orton
Manorath Thacker: I was so excited to see this feud and match going into Mania, before Pat McAfee ruined it all! I expect a lot of celebrity interference in this match. Both Pat and Jelly Roll will most likely lock horns, and I hope Jelly Roll takes him out right at the start, so we can get an amazing match for the title between two friends turned enemies. I do think a heel champion is something we desperately need, not to mention watching Cody as champion is boring now. So i think the Viper takes the W here. Winner: Randy Orton.
Aayush Sharma: “I hear voices in my head and they talk to me” that Randy Orton is becoming a 15-time champion. Fans have already seen Cody Rhodes sitting at the top of the table and WWE seems to have realized that people care more about him when he is wronged and he is an underdog. So, this storyline might continue here. Orton will win and then begin the chase, making Rhodes a force to be reckoned with. Till then, Orton will be a ruthless champion and I cannot wait to see what he does. Winner: Randy Orton.
Night 2: Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar
Reubyn Coutinho: A match with no title has everyone invested. Oba Femi will rag-doll Lesnar and have him struggling. I am going for a Brock win with him using his veteran instinct to somehow overcome ‘The Ruler’. The outcome of this match can change on the basis of how Night 1 is received. Dismal night 1 = Oba winning. Good night 1= Brock winning. Winner (purely for what makes sense): Brock Lesnar
Manorath Thacker: Oba Femi has looked like a billion dollars during the entire build for this match. Stepping on Lesnar’s chest, beating him up, standing his ground on the mic against none other than Paul Heyman. All this can very well be the reason he wins it and slays the beast. However, this match is in the opening hour on ESPN, which means a more casual sports fan is likely to tune into the program, and that fan only recognises Lesnar, thanks to his UFC days. Add to that the fact that Brock Lesnar is likely very close to his retirement match, which I think is going to be SummerSlam against Gunther (if Gunther cashes in his favor for saving Paul Heyman after he defeats Seth Rollins). Rumours have long suggested that Lesnar doesn't want to go into his retirement match riding a loss. So, to please the casual fan and keep them for the entire show and set up his retirement match, I think the Beast is going to win. Winner: Brock Lesnar.
Aayush Sharma: This match takes me back to the 2002 Summer Slam. A young Brock Lesnar is going head-to-head with a legend like The Rock and becoming the youngest WWE champion ever. Although this match does not have a title on the line, Oba Femi has the chance of doing something similar. However, Lesnar is one man who does not like to lose, and this might be the last time we see him at Mania. So, he would not go out as the loser. But, over the years, WWE has made it clear that they always want the young generation to come forward, and because of that reason, I am choosing Oba Femi as the winner. Winner: Oba Femi.
6 Man Ladder Match: Rey Mysterio vs Je’Von Evans vs Penta (c) vs Rusev vs JD McDonagh vs Dragon Lee (Intercontinental Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: Acrobatics and daredevilry will be the theme of this match. With the names involved, we can clearly expect the unexpected. I am making a bold pick here and going for Je’Von Evans to win, as this can catapult him into mid-card title status with an incredible match. It sets up a solid title reign for him to eventually move into the World title picture. Winner: Je’Von Evans.
Manorath Thacker: This match is so stacked and bound to be so amazing that there is no wrong winner here. PENTA, JD McDonnagh, Rusev, Je’von Evans, Rey Mysterio, and Dragon Lee, any of the 6 can win this match, and I am sure we will all be happy! I am not even kidding when I say this has the potential to be the best ladder match of all time. However, for the sake of prediction, I will say Rey Mysterio is going to win this match and set up a retirement feud for the Intercontinental Championship with his son, Dominik Mysterio. Winner: Rey Mysterio
Aayush Sharma: This ladder match is going to be epic. Every name in this match deserves to be there. But I am not going to discuss this much and name PENTA as my predicted winner.
Jade Cargill vs Rhea Ripley (WWE Women's Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: I will deviate from my colleagues here just to make this interesting. Gonna go for an Iyo Sky mid-match turn on Rhea Ripley. Sky’s been taking a load of punishment over the weeks and will have had enough. She would also remember Ripley’s history of turning on her friends. And Heel Iyo is money. Winner: Jade Cargill
Manorath Thacker: I do not care about this match, and will most probably skip watching it. Might tune in if I hear Bianca Belair’s music. Winner: Rhea Rhipley.
Aayush Sharma: Just want to say the winner’s name: Rhea Ripley
Sami Zayn vs Trick Williams (US Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: It will be Tricky Williams taking this one to give the crowd a delightful moment. Sami losing with the hate he is receiving is ideal as there will be no WWE Universe sympathy. It'll allow him to unlock a heelish version that can get him his World Championship in 2027. Winner: Trick Williams
Manorath Thacker: They have finally shed the “goodie 2-shoes” persona of Sami Zayn and have had him play dirty to defeat a fan-favorite champion in Carmelo Hayes. I think this is the best time to embrace it all, turn Sami into a heel, and run wild on SmackDown after WrestleMania. But for Mania, I will be yelling “Whoop That Trick” as Trick Williams dons his lemon pepper steppers and beats Sami for the US Title. Winner: Trick Williams.
Aayush Sharma: It is wild to see Sami Zayn, a babyface, turning into someone who plays dirty to attain a victory. But that is also the most interesting part. Turning Sami into a heel will be a unique experience, an experience that might turn out to be one of the most rewarding ones. For that to happen, Sami has to lose this one and go berserk after that. So, my predicted winner is Trick Williams.
The Demon Finn Balor vs Dominik Mysterio
Reubyn Coutinho: At this very arena last April, Dominik ran past Finn Balor to celebrate his IC Title win. The Demon may have stirred from within at that time. Balor kept him in check, but now he will re-emerge and leave Dominik scurrying. Not even Triple H will have The Demon lose twice in a row. He needs to get rid of the stain of the defeat to Brood Edge.
Manorath Thacker: If this had been a match between Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor, even then I would have said that Finn is winning this 99 out of 100 times, but this is the Demon Finn Balor. WWE and Triple-H, of course, won't have Demon lose multiple matches after that awful display against Edge. Winner: The Demon Finn Balor.
Aayush Sharma: This is Finn Balor’s year. The Demon is ready to hunt for souls and Dominik is next. Winner: The Demon Finn Balor.
CM Punk vs Roman Reigns (World Heavyweight Championship)
Reubyn Coutinho: Reigns without the belt having to take on his family is much more compelling than a Reigns title run. Punk putting over a man who had a 1300+ day title run makes 0 sense. The betrayals Reigns faces from his cousins or The Rock (we have to. We know he doesn't really show up) will set up a proper year-long Bloodline Civil War. And yes, the family’s stance will be that they didn't help Punk; they just took out Roman. Winner: CM Punk

Manorath Thacker: A feud that got worse with each passing week before Mania, Punk vs Roman as the closing match is bound to be a match filled with multiple faces. I predict the Usos to definitely appear ring-side. And I will not be surprised if Pat McAfee makes an appearance too, following the on-mic feud with Punk. Maybe even the Final Boss returns, and we see a reunited BloodLine. I cannot see CM Punk winning here at all. Most likely, we will have Roman win it with the help of all the people, which will set up the big TKO vs WWE feud, which I hope is paid off at Survivor Series. Winner: Roman Reigns.
Aayush Sharma: This feud started with a bang and we all expected that. Two of the biggest names in the industry going against each other, showcasing why they are considered to be the best. With each passing week, both gentlemen have done anything and everything to gain the upper hand, but now, the time has come for the ultimate battle. For me and millions of other people, Punk is everything a champion should be. Honestly, I just do not want to see Reigns winning. I have had enough of him being the winner. So, my predicted winner is CM Punk.
