Whether AI ends up taking over the world or not, it has already taken over pretty much every conversation out there, and Hollywood is knee-deep in it, too. Big names like 3x Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro have openly shared their distaste for AI. Even with all the backlash online, plenty of industries are still leaning into AI, leaving people split on whether it is a blessing or curse.

But if there is one thing del Toro can sleep easily knowing, it is that he has at least one person by his side.

Jacob Elordi, in his recent sit-down with Vanity Fair, did not mince words. He said he has zero tolerance for AI and even called the whole conversation “boring.” In other words, he is not hopping on that bandwagon anytime soon.

During the conversation, he was asked about del Toro’s take on AI, and Elordi shared that the whole thing just does not interest him. He made it clear that he is not judging anyone who is into it, but as for himself, he has better things to do.

“I would much rather kiss on the beach, and read a novel, and be sunburnt,” said the Euphoria actor.

If anything, most netizens are thrilled about Elordi’s take on AI and even more excited that he is siding with the Pinocchio director on the whole debate.

Fans have been skeptical about AI creeping into creative spaces like art, anime, and films. Many netizens seemed to feel a relief when a phenomenal actor like Elordi spoke out against it. As he shared the same concerns, fans flooded the comments section by praising him. 

While one fan said, "Man’s out here choosing vibes over bots," others took pride in his views, saying things like, "now that's a man of culture," "That's my boyyy".

For Elordi, his stance on AI feels pretty fitting. The actor starred in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein for Netflix, where he spent nearly 10 hours getting into prosthetic makeup just to look like the creature. He reportedly went through that process around 20 times.

That speaks volumes about his opinion on AI. However, the odd thing is that not everyone was convinced by his comment. Some people even poked fun at him for his opinion, but in a sweet way.

A fan wrote, "someone tell him ai can make sunburn filters now". While another spoke on behalf of every single fan of Elordi, claiming, "He was made by AI".

del Toro is well known for favoring practical effects such as prosthetic makeup, physical sets over CGI, so naturally, everyone wants to know whether the Kissing Booth star is on the same page. For now, his take seems to have most fans satisfied, even if the rest of the internet is still divided on the matter.
