The Duchess of Sussex has parted ways with her tenth communications chief in five years, as Emily Robinson, a former Netflix executive, left Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s team after joining in June 2025. Daily Mail journalist Alison Boshoff notes Robinson’s stint lasted only three months. A friend told Daily Mail that Robinson is “not a quitter” and that “things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.” Robinson's LinkedIn now omits the Sussexes entirely, keeping only her previous roles.
Emily Robinson’s hiring sparked controversy because of her work on The Crown, which dramatized sensitive royal moments, including fictionalized portrayals of Princess Diana. Her recent departure, according to reports, adds to the Sussexes’ ongoing public relations challenges since relocating to California in 2020. Over the years, at least ten publicists have left the Sussexes, a team whose shrinking ranks has often fueled intense scrutiny.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quietly trimmed their communications team, a royal insider did not hold back and delivered a sharp critique.
