Released in 1992, the five-hour miniseries explored the rise of the Jackson family and closely followed the Jackson 5.

Directed by Karen Arthur, the show was originally broadcast in two parts on ABC. And the brilliant cast who brought their story to screen was Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Angela Bassett, Holly Robinson Peete, Margaret Avery, and Wylie Draper. Draper portrayed a young Michael Jackson in the series.

Now, Amazon Prime is also home to several other documentaries, including Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon. The streaming platform also features the popular 2022 documentary, Janet Jackson. The documentary focuses on Michael Jackson’s sister, Janet Jackson's career, and has an upcoming follow-up series in the works.
