Whodunit stories are the most cherished subgenre of the murder mystery umbrella. If done right, they can pull the audience deep into its world of lies and deceit, where everyone is a suspect and viewers are compelled to put on their detective caps. The most recent and classic example of a whodunit story done right is the Knives Out trilogy.

Consisting of three different mysteries, with detective Benoit Blanc at the center of all three, the movies kept the audience on the edge of their seats, guessing right until the very end.

Following the success of the movies, especially the third one, Rian Johnson, the writer, director, and producer of the trilogy, has released the script of Wake Up Dead Man for fans to read.
