Since Marvel Studios gave the go-ahead for Deadpool & Wolverine, anticipation has been fueled by the immense success of the preceding films. While for over a year, the movie has undergone several confrontations with unwarranted leaks, one key detail that remains unconfirmed by any official or unofficial source is the possibility of Taylor Swift taking on the role of Dazzler for the movie. Fans have long toyed with the notion of Swift portraying Dazzler, while fan arts have rarely ventured beyond this concept until recently, when an artist began imagining her for the role of Lady Deadpool.

Just very recently, MCU Film News shared on X (formerly Twitter) a fan-casting artwork created by the user VENOMHOLOGY, envisioning Taylor Swift as Lady Deadpool. The fan-made poster depicted Swift in a meticulously crafted rendition of the iconic red and black spandex suit, accompanied by the caption "Deadpool The Multiverse Tour," a nod to Swift's Eras Tour, presented in the style reminiscent of an official film poster. While the artwork was visually stunning, the fan-casting choice did not resonate well with enthusiasts, escalating their emotions negatively.

As fans started to doubt the credibility of the news, a number of them overlooked the fact that it was actually fan-made artwork. Although there was some opportunity for clarification on the matter recently at CinemaCon, Shawn Levy remained evasive about Taylor Swift's potential role as Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine in his discussion with Entertainment Tonight. This ambiguity, coupled with the fan art, likely fueled heightened emotions among fans who remain uncertain about the truth.

Even though this news was somewhat vague, it prompted fans to become more defensive, with many favoring Deadpool’s wife, or rather, Ryan Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, over Taylor Swift.

Fans choose Blake Lively for Lady Deadpool’s role instead of Taylor Swift

Fans delight in the frequent appearances of the trio–Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Taylor Swift – in headlines due to their close relationship. However, this does not necessarily mean they would warmly receive Swift's portrayal as Lady Deadpool opposite Reynolds' Deadpool. One reason for this reluctance could be Reynolds and Lively’s shared wit, which fans believe could enhance their on-screen chemistry. Additionally, fans have long awaited Swift's portrayal of Dazzler, eagerly anticipating its confirmation.

In reality, fans were not entirely opposed to Swift's involvement, but rather favored the idea of the trio leading the film, with Lively as Lady Deadpool and Swift as Dazzler.

Aware that suppressing emotions leads nowhere, fans quickly expressed their disappointment, fearing such casting choices could harm the film's success and disrupt its storyline. Some enthusiasts attempted to calm the heated discussion with logical explanations, highlighting the improbability of such a case. Nevertheless, most fans hesitated to envision this outcome, signaling to the filmmakers that if Swift were to be cast, Dazzler would be the preferred role, not Lady Deadpool.
