And during a recent talk, Waterhouse did not water down the fact that, should their daughter fancy Hollywood one day, she would be ready to "nepo-baby" her way into Hollywood.

The nepo-baby debate has never been Hollywood’s gentlest conversation, but Suki Waterhouse is not letting the skyline fall as she is hardly reaching for diplomatic language when discussing her daughter’s potential shortcut.

Suki Waterhouse is apparently not planning to let her daughter leave Hollywood connections sitting around unused. The musician and Robert Pattinson welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2024, keeping her name and private life firmly out of the spotlight. But when Nylon asked about her daughter entering the industry, Waterhouse delivered an answer with absolutely zero corporate diplomacy.

“I’d be nepo-babying the hell out of her,” Waterhouse declared, before immediately realizing she had perhaps said the quiet part rather loudly.

The musician then joked, “Oh no. Why didn’t I just keep that inside?”

Considering Robert Pattinson is currently filming The Batman Part II and their daughter already calls him “Daddy Batman,” the family business has certainly made quite the impression. 

For a couple that has kept their daughter’s name and personal details fiercely private, Waterhouse’s confession to Nylon feels particularly delightfully unguarded. Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse rarely offer more than lighthearted glimpses of family life and have fiercely protected their daughter from fame, making this candid admission about their daughter’s possible Hollywood future all the more entertaining.

While quite the number of celebrities, such as Mark Ruffalo, have taken the more hands-off approach with their children, Suki Waterhouse is hardly alone in seeing the benefits of a well-connected parent.

Will Smith and his wife put Jaden Smith and Willow Smith directly into major films, with Jaden Smith appearing alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness and After Earth, while Willow Smith joined Will Smith in I Am Legend. Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann took a similarly familiar route, casting Maude Apatow, popularly known for Euphoria, and Iris Apatow in Knocked Up and This Is 40 while they were young. Gwyneth Paltrow also benefited from a particularly well-connected family tree, with her father, Bruce Paltrow, casting her and her godfather, Steven Spielberg, later giving her Hook. For Suki Waterhouse, that precedent makes her willingness to pull strings for her daughter sound less like a hypothetical and more like a well-established Hollywood tradition.
