Everything is horrific, fortunately for Hollywood, with the splurge of horror left and right. Not getting away from the influence is Charli xcx as her venture into showbiz expands via the genre. Moving well past her 'Brat' summer and a New Year spent in Sundance, her upcoming feature now has an almost uncannily superhuman quality to it, minus the Krypton cape. Milly Alcock, be it by swooping in or dragon-riding, has entered right into the horror's den for her next project, under Charli xcx's defence.

Having experience in the preternatural realms, Milly Alcock might just make the two ends of the Hollywood spectrum collide.

In April 2025, Charli xcx gave her then-upcoming 'Brat' summer a shocking turn by announcing a second project under her Studio 365 banner. It was revealed to be a collaboration with Takashi Miike, which the singer was also producing alongside her starring role. Although the title has not been finalized, it has been popularized as the Untitled Kyoto Project, as per Variety.

As of February 2026, the said-to-be horror flick is taking a more concrete shape with the addition of the House of the Dragon and Supergirl star, Milly Alcock.

Norman Reedus, Sho Kasamatsu, and Kiko Mizuhara are the rest of the cast as of now, according to Variety. Adhering to the current title, the plot will be centered on three friends amid a reunion in Kyoto, when one of them, Charli xcx's character in particular, gets taken over by an external entity. For those who are familiar with Miike's works, such as Blade of the Immortal, Ichi the Killer, Sham, and the 1999 Audition, the filmmaker's trademark sense of graphic depictions stands as a unique selling point.

Charli xcx's goes from Brat to blockbuster

Stemming from a "word vomit" sent to filmmaker Aidan Zamiri during her Sweat Concert Tour, Charli xcx announced her first feature film, The Moment, a mockumentary, in January 2025. While starring in it, the '365' singer took on the producing role as well. The project was also the very first that the singer delivered under her own production company, Studio 365.

Premiering in January 2026 at the Sundance Film Festival, A24 acquired the film for distribution in the US. However, despite a major Hollywood player's involvement and Charli xcx's own popularity, the film received a cocktail of reviews rather than being largely positive.
