After 43 Years, Will Smith Shares His “Love” for Hip Hop With a New Reel
Over the years, Will Smith has become a social media comic. With the actor constantly dropping some hilarious video or the other, he has given even Ryan Reynolds a run for his money. However, while the 55-year-old usually posts meme content that leaves his followers in hysterics, he recently shone the spotlight on his rather intense feelings towards hip-hop music with a brand new reel.
Smith may have stepped into the world of rapping at just 12 years old. However, it looks like his love for the genre has ended up proving to be something that has lasted a lifetime.

In a recent post to his Instagram, Will Smith ended up sharing a clip from the entertainer, Chilly Gonzales. The video showed the 51-year-old in Germany as he explained the meaning behind one of Lil Wayne’s iconic lyrics. It was “real Gs move in silence like lasagna.” Although most fans had understood it right off the bat, it looked like some people did not understand the saying. The 55-year-old even captioned the video, “I Love Hip Hop!”
In the video, Gonzales could be heard explaining that “gangsters” were like “heroic figures for rappers.” He also explained the complete phrase by adding that it meant that they did not tell people about their plans and kept things on the down low. While Smith might have found the cultural difference a little funny, there was no denying that it was one of Wayne’s most iconic lines.
Although Smith has proved time and time again to be up to date with the current music scene, he stunned the world when he chose to make a surprise comeback to hip-hop last year.

Last year, Will Smith made his comeback to the rap game when he was a part of the Grammy’s Salute to Hip Hop Special. Apart from catching up with an old flame and a few rather good friends like Jazzy Jeff, the father of three decided to take it to the next level by performing at the MDLBeast Soundstorm Music Festival. While no one had seen it coming, the actor proved his rapping career could continue.
Since then, Smith has not given fans any updates on whether he would like to once again kick-start his music career. However, there is no doubt that they will rush to support him if he does. After all, the rapper began his Hollywood career by making it as a rapper in the first place.
