Nearly 6 years later, some of the most powerful X-Men heroes are moving to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to save their world from danger. While Fox’s X-Men will appear in Avengers: Doomsday for a face-off, Marvel is moving towards an X-Men reboot with a new cast playing the superheroes. Since then, there have been conversations about which character could return. 

Kevin Feige has already revealed a few names such as Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue, Cyclops, Prof. X, and Mr, Sinister. Now, another name has been added to the conversation, and it is Angel. Although the name might appear familiar to fans of the comics, here is everything to know about the character and his powers. 

Angel is Warren Worthington III, who is one of the original X-Men. He is one of the founding members of the X-Men. And the mutant's strongest power is his flight, and he is well known for his wings that remind people of an Angel. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was introduced in the very first issue of X-Men back in 1963. 

Angel is born into a wealthy family and grows up fascinated by heights. That was perhaps a hint at his future. And the moment came when he developed wings, which he initially hid to avoid being exposed as a mutant.

However, after using his wings to rescue students and save them from a dormitory fire, he became a masked hero known as the Avenging Angel. His heroic actions later caught Professor X’s attention, leading him to become one of the founding members of the X-Men. Ben Foster played the character in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, while Ben Hardy played him in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Now, a new actor is set to play the role of Angel in the movie. 

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Asa Germann is rumored to play Angel in the upcoming X-Men movie. The actor had previously auditioned for the role of Cyclops but lost the part to Kit Connor. He was later offered the role of Angel. Germann most recently appeared in Scream 7.

What makes Germann a potentially perfect fit for the role is his previous experience playing a superhero. He played Sam Riordan in the Amazon Prime Video superhero series Gen V and also appeared in Season 4 of The Boys. For Gen V, Germann underwent intense physical training, which could help prepare him for the demands of playing Angel.

His performance as a character who is full of rage and slowly begins to develop and change also makes him an interesting choice to portray a superhero in the X-Men films. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the possibility of Germann joining the franchise has already garnered plenty of hype.
