Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has compared his new show, Fightland, to Yellowstone. The rapper and actor has steadily expanded his footprint as an executive producer with shows such as Power and its spinoff BMF (Black Mafia Family). Now, he has returned with a new ongoing crime drama, Fightland, which he is also producing.

While there is still much to learn about the show ahead of its release, 50 Cent has continued to drop teasers. In one such tease, he compared Fightland to Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama Yellowstone.

50 Cent recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about his upcoming show, Fightland. The rapper and actor expressed his excitement about the series and went on to address some of the questions fans have been asking, including whether the show is particularly violent. In response, he revealed that he has been comparing Fightland to Yellowstone.

“They asked me, "Is it violent?" I said, "Well, boxing is violent, right?" Then when they say violence, I say, "'Yellowstone's' violent." Like somebody dies every episode,” he told Jimmy Fallon. 

He clearly suggested that there will be tense moments in the show. Now, previously, in an interview with CNN, 50 Cent explained that viewers are drawn to movies and shows about boxing because of the discipline required to succeed in the sport. So, he believes that people will love Fightland.

While 50 Cent has already dropped enough hints on why one should watch Fightland, what is the show about?

50 Cent’s crime drama, Fightland, follows Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, who is a disgraced former boxing champion, and it focuses on his return to London seeking revenge against the crime family he believes betrayed him. The show is created by Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith. Howard Charles, who plays the role of Duke, spoke about why he joined the show. 

“It’s exciting. Look, I’m a big game player, you know, like Ronaldo, like Messi and many others. And this man is a big game player,” he said of 50 Cent. 

50 Cent’s involvement was one of the aspects that made the project exciting for him. He is joined by Nicholas Pinnock, Deborah Ayorinde, Charles Babalola, and Max Brown. Now, with 50 Cent comparing Fightland to Yellowstone, it means soon boxing, revenge, and family power will collide.
