And they have seemingly been quite successful at gaining the attention of the masses. We do have a few solid announcements, such as their expectation to find the new Clark Kent of a younger age, and that James Gunn will officially be the director of Superman: Legacy. We still do not know the new bearer of the red and blue cape. Yeah this guy looks the part! And I read that Lois Lane is half latina since her mother was from Ecuador and also Lois speaks Spanish so I would love to see a Latina actress take the role, Lois is also smart, sassy and witty so I envision someone like Aubrey Plaza pic.twitter.com/CQANhGaXbZ

DC Comics takes place within a Multiverse; one universe having its own version of SM that (sorry, this might be triggering) is black! Meet Calvin Ellis. His universe got destroyed in the anti-monitor crisis but he existed at one point. So yeah, Superman was black in one universe. pic.twitter.com/ueihjkqgwW

All this prompted comic book writer Grant Morrison to create a black Superman. Hence enter Calvin Ellis: a black Man of Steel created by artist Doug Mahnke, whom he envisioned as a beacon of hope and would fight alongside the heroes of DC Universe in an apocalyptic narrative, Final Crisis. He notably came from an alternate Earth and on his planet, he was twice as powerful: both Superman and the President of the United States.
