Fans Imagine Wolfgang Novogratz and Aubrey Plaza Replacing Henry Cavill and Amy Adams Following The Superman Race-Swap Rumors

The world of entertainment makes the most from building intrigue through speculations and fans entertaining those said speculations until we get concrete news. And it seems like James Gunn and his brand new DC universe know this well and are taking full-fledged advantage of it. After pushing the fan-favorite actor, Henry Cavill to the curbs, they have wittily got fans into the never-ending cycle of the ultimate question: Who will be the next Superman?

And they have seemingly been quite successful at gaining the attention of the masses. We do have a few solid announcements, such as their expectation to find the new Clark Kent of a younger age, and that James Gunn will officially be the director of Superman: Legacy. We still do not know the new bearer of the red and blue cape. However, a new rumor suggests that along with a younger version, James Gunn-led Universe is also open to casting the actor from any ethnicity whatsoever.

Notably, as soon as it reached the ears of eager fans, they started pitching the actors of their own choice. Among many, the most popular face that came up for Clark Kent is none other than the 25-year-old Wolfgang Novogratz. You might remember him as Nick from Netflix’s 2020 dance comedy-drama, Feel the Beat. Furthermore, one of the verified social media influencers also suggested that Aubrey Plaza AKA Harper from Disney Plus’s White Lotus will be the most suitable option for Lois Lane.

Another influencer suggested casting LaKeith Stanfield as the new Superman. However, there is no official announcement and we will have to wait for the future to bring us the new greatest superhero in the entire universe.

If you are wondering if a Superman of color would fit in the already set legacy, well; It has happened before. According to New York Times, the former president of the USA had joked about him being born on Krypton and sent here to “save the planet Earth,” at a charity event during his 2008 presidential campaign. And just a few months earlier, an artist had imagined him as the Superhero.

All this prompted comic book writer Grant Morrison to create a black Superman. Hence enter Calvin Ellis: a black Man of Steel created by artist Doug Mahnke, whom he envisioned as a beacon of hope and would fight alongside the heroes of DC Universe in an apocalyptic narrative, Final Crisis. He notably came from an alternate Earth and on his planet, he was twice as powerful: both Superman and the President of the United States.
