Madea has never exactly been the quietest houseguest, and that is precisely why audiences keep inviting her back. Tyler Perry’s iconic matriarch has powered over a dozen films, blending outrageous slapstick with Southern wisdom and emotional family drama. From Diary of a Mad Black Woman to A Madea Homecoming, Mabel “Madea” Simmons has become wonderfully familiar, like everyone’s loudest, funniest auntie.
And now, the supposed Madea and the Damn Neighbor has entered the chat, leaving fans wondering whether this latest neighborhood disaster is actually happening.

Madea and the Damn Neighbor is not a real Tyler Perry movie and has no release date, despite a convincing fake poster and detailed plot circulating online. The concept was shared by Instagram user shmr_exe, who imagined Tyler Perry’s Madea facing off against Kevin Hart’s Brian Walker. Naturally, the supposed neighborhood feud promises fences, flooded yards, runaway equipment and enough chaos to demolish the peace treaty.
According to shmr_exe, Madea finally finds the quiet neighborhood of her dreams, only for Brian Walker to move next door and turn serenity into slapstick warfare. Their increasingly ridiculous prank battle eventually spirals into a disaster threatening the entire community, forcing the unlikely enemies to cooperate. The imagined story even gives their rivalry a surprisingly wholesome destination: friendship, forgiveness and community.

For now, fans should not start circling a release date on their calendars because Madea and the Damn Neighbor exists only as a fan-created concept by shmr_exe. The last film centered on Tyler Perry’s iconic character remains Madea’s Destination Wedding, which premiered on Netflix on July 11, 2025. While 2026’s Joe’s College Road Trip shifts the spotlight to Madea’s brother Joe, it still belongs to the wider franchise universe.
Although Madea and the Damn Neighbor is not actually coming, there is an upcoming Tyler Perry movie worth knowing about before you reach for his films on Netflix.
Upcoming Tyler Perry movies to look forward to
Fans can instead look forward to Tyler Perry’s actual upcoming movies, which offer plenty of reasons to keep the Netflix queue warm. 'Tis So Sweet is expected in late 2026 with Taraji P. Henson, while The Gospel of Christmas is targeting the holiday season. Meanwhile, Doing Life remains in post-production, adding another drama to Perry’s packed slate.

So, while Madea and the Damn Neighbor may have fans imagining one more neighborhood catastrophe, the real Tyler Perry lineup already has enough going on. With faith-based drama, gritty storytelling, and a familiar franchise universe all on the horizon, audiences have plenty to anticipate. For now, that is where the real release dates begin, and the fictional ones end.
