One Piece manga chapter 1189 left things on a cliffhanger that left One Piece fans gasping at what they had seen. As intense as the Elbaph arc has been, this outcome was not something they were expecting when Saint Nerona Imu first arrived. Avid followers knew that it was a long shot that our protagonist Monkey D. Luffy was going to get out unscathed from the fight, but to be injured fatally and have his life left hanging in the balance was surely not in anyone’s mind.  

Still, the Straw Hat captain is not completely finished off, and the spoilers suggest that it will take more from Imu to kill Luffy.

One Piece Chapter 1189 spoilers reveal that Imu is not letting Luffy off the hook with just one fatal stab. In one of the most terrible scenes of the Final Saga, Imu instantly unleashes another legendary weapon called the Sea God Sword and stabs him for the second time, pushing Luffy closer to death rather than allowing the Straw Hat captain some time to heal.  

Usopp abruptly freezes at that same time. Even though he cannot view the battlefield, he has a gut feeling that Luffy has suffered a dreadful fate. Another significant discovery secretly takes place elsewhere while the battlefield is still in total disarray. Earlier, Gunko was imprisoned by ice that was totally melted away by Ragnir's enormous crash. Despite her eventual release, she has yet to regain consciousness, leaving the battlefield in a state of uncertainty.

Elsewhere, Loki suddenly recalls a chat he had with Shanks on the day King Harald passed away during this difficult period. In the flashback, Shanks warned that the World Government had already started preparations for a future battle, which many fans think would turn out to be the series' final battle. More significantly, Shanks indicates that neither the Marines nor another pirate is the real adversary. He only refers to that adversary as the "King of the World."

If all of this seems huge, then there is more that will definitely whet the excitement for Chapter 1189 even more.

One Piece Chapter 1189 spoilers further reveal that Imu is now fortifying the Holy Knights with fabled weaponry from the Void Century, as if defeating Luffy wasn't enough. First, Imu hands Saint Shepherd Sommers the Sword of Wrath and commands him to annihilate Zoro. Shortly after, Imu also gives Saint Killingham the Spear of Holy Command, designating him to fight Sanji. The balance of the battlefield changes once more, as Zoro and Sanji are now up against adversaries wielding Imu's own storied weapons.

The last major thing that chapter 1189 spoilers reveal is that Gaban is back in action and will save Luffy the moment Imu goes in to deliver the final blow with the Xingtian Axe. However, a full clash is not in the cards for the next chapter, and on top of that, there is a break next week, so the repercussions of Gaban and Imu’s confrontation will most likely be revealed two weeks after One Piece chapter 1189 arrives.
