A month before its premiere, fans get another exciting news as original talents form a part of this live action adaptation as well.

Netflix to Bring In Original Anime Talents for ‘One Piece’, Making It All the More Exciting

Despite all the disappointments Netflix has had with its live-action
adaptations, One Piece shines like a glimmer of hope. This manga has been
dominating the scene for a solid 25 years and has not backed down from any
competition. Its apparent success and strong connection with viewers can be
attributed to its beloved character, Luffy. The live-action adaptation surely
has greater shoes to fill in for the ardent fans.

With its premiere scheduled for August 31st, this live-action adaptation has
already exceeded expectations with its thrilling teaser. As fans eagerly await
the premiere, there is exciting news regarding the Japanese dubs of the series.

ONE PIECE LIVE ADAPTATION’S JAPANESE DUB TO BE CURATED BY ORIGINAL VOICEOVERS

One Piece fans are in for an exhilarating adventure as the series delves into
the East Blue Arc. The live-action adaptation did not please everyone until news
broke that the original creator, Eiichiro Oda, would personally oversee the
project. Given Oda’s dedication to his beloved creation, he certainly would not
want to compromise its quality. To add to the excitement, the original anime
cast will also be lending their voices to the Japanese dubs.

During the 2023 Anime Expo, Mayumi Tanaka, the renowned voice behind Monkey D.
Luffy in the original anime series, made an exciting announcement. Tanaka
revealed that she will be joined by the rest of the cast to provide the voices
for the Japanese dub of the live-action adaptation. It’s undeniable that One
Piece has deeply resonated and formed personal connections with its viewers.
Even those who haven’t experienced it before can now connect with Luffy through
Tanaka’s voice, as well as the voices of the other Straw Hat Pirates.

While One Piece has streamed for over 1000 episodes, anime fans strike a glimmer
of hope with Netflix for this live-action adaptation.

WHY WILL ONE PIECE’S LIVE ADAPTATION BE A HIT AMONG ITS FANS?

Netflix has had a track record of disappointing live-action adaptations of
anime, like Dragon Ball Evolution and Attack on Titan. However, there is hope
that they won’t let down the devoted fans with the live-action adaptation of One
Piece. One key reason for this optimism is that while it will stay true to
Monkey D. Luffy’s story, it aims to be more than just a carbon copy of the
original series.

The live-action adaptation has a specific goal of covering the East Blue Arc,
which is the very first arc in the manga series. It will showcase Luffy’s
journey across the Great Arc, along with his crewmates, as they take on and
defeat the villains they encounter. This way it will also stay true to the
original series and be a treat for the fans as well as new watchers.
