Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is officially in production by Studio Ufotable, as was shared by the franchise's official Instagram handle. While the first film set a monumental bar for visual loyalty, reports from Studio Ufotable indicate that the sequel will likely grace theaters in 2027. This window was revealed in an analysis of the trilogy's breakthrough global box office performance by The Guardian. However, the release date is not confirmed yet.
"Well, we've announced that it will be a trilogy of movies, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven't decided on dates yet," Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Parini told The Hollywood Reporter. Enthusiasts are looking toward the Anime Japan 2026 convention on March 28 for the next major announcement.
If one goes on turning pages from the back, the second film is expected to begin its narrative journey at chapter 158 of the manga, likely covering the intense events through chapter 183. Looking ahead, the final installment of the trilogy is anticipated to adapt the Sunrise Countdown arc in its entirety. By focusing on chapters 184 through 205, the third movie will provide a definitive and epic conclusion to the long-running struggle against the demon progenitor.
This meticulous dedication to craft follows a successful history of theatrical releases that have dominated the box office.
A legacy of cinematic demon hunting
The journey into theatres began with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie: Mugen Train, which shattered international records and became the highest-grossing anime film of all time. It proved that the story of Tanjiro Kamado possessed a universal appeal that transcended traditional television formats. The emotional weight of that film established a new gold standard for the entire industry.
Following that success, the franchise transitioned into theatrical events like To the Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training, which compiled key television episodes for the big screen. These releases allowed fans to experience the Upper Moon Gathering and critical training arcs with enhanced audio and visual clarity. Such events maintained the momentum of the series between major seasonal shifts.

The current Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy represents the first time the story concludes through a dedicated three-part cinematic experience. By moving away from the episodic structure, the creators can deliver a seamless, grand finale to the war against Muzan Kibutsuji. This trilogy will likely stand as the definitive conclusion to a decade of storytelling.
