Black Clover began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015. Yuki Tabata wrote it for the next eleven years, and by the time it ended in April, the series had sold more than 24 million copies in print. It was one of the magazine's top-selling titles the whole run. However, the finale never actually showed Asta getting crowned Wizard King, even though that was the whole point of the story. That is the one thing fans had been waiting for. A new guidebook dropping next month looks like it's finally giving them that scene.

That guidebook page just leaked, and it looks like the closest thing fans get to real closure.

The leak comes from Tabata's new guidebook, Perfect Grimoire, out in Japan on August 4. Scans circulating online show Asta in the Wizard King's robe, the exact title he set out to earn back when he couldn't cast a single spell. He fought his way to the top the hard way. Asta went through the Eye of the Midnight Sun, the elf possession arc, the war against the Spade Kingdom, and back-to-back fights with Lucifero and Lucius Zogratis to get there.

Yuno pushed him the entire time too, which is part of why this robe reveal matters more than a simple costume change. The reason the robe holds such significance is what it represents.

Naruto had a similar moment when its lead finally became Hokage; the same people who doubted him for years had to accept him as their leader. Seeing the nobles who once looked down on Asta now answer to him gives the story a sense of closure that the manga itself never showed on the page.

Although Asta may have been crowned, the story has not finished here.

Most of the guidebook sticks to the ceremony itself, so a few long-running threads still do not get touched. Asta's father is still unnamed, Charmy's dwarven background is still unexplained, and Yuno's connection to the Spade Kingdom only gets a brief mention.

Another big question the guidebook doesn't touch is whether Asta's coronation changes anything for people outside the nobility, or if it just stays a title. A few ceremony pages aren't enough to answer that. Fans do get something else soon. The Black Clover anime comes back this October, around the same window as several other top Shonen Jump titles.

Either way, Asta got the crown he spent over a decade working toward, and that's enough to make this leak worth talking about. Tabata seems fine leaving some things unresolved instead of closing every loose end.
