The latest batch of episodes of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai Part 2 just released on Netflix, and it seems that the anime is staying true to its long-standing tradition of parodying notable political figures of the world. Throughout Baki's run, creator Keisuke Itagaki has frequently incorporated fictionalized portrayals of actual political personalities. However, the anime steers clear of focusing on any one particular figure, and instead, the series typically portrays all of the key leaders as being inconsequential in comparison to Yujiro's immense power.

This recurrent joke has grown to be one of the franchise's distinguishing characteristics, supporting the notion that Yujiro transcends politics, military might, and national boundaries. Previous presidents who were influenced by Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have all made awkward appearances.

Now, the American President Donald Trump joins the list of those who have made an unexpected cameo in the series.

Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai features a Donald Trump lookalike

Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix, and one sequence in particular is already receiving attention online. A Donald Trump-inspired figure in the new season swears allegiance to Yujiro Hanma, the Baki universe's strongest fighter, before blatantly drenching himself in terror.

A contentious scenario from the manga that is adapted in this scene, in which the Trump lookalike meets Yujiro and soon realizes he is dealing with someone well beyond the power of any world leader. The anime appears to somewhat alter part of the original sequence by changing the salutation used in the manga, but it leaves the essential comedy intact, which is that the imaginary president submits to Yujiro and loses control of his bladder in the process.

For anyone new to Baki, this undoubtedly seems absolutely ludicrous. But to the fans of the anime, it is precisely the kind of stuff that has become one of the hallmarks of the franchise. The strongest creature on Earth, Yujiro is able to intimidate global leaders into signing non-aggression agreements, vanquish armies, and survive unfathomable injuries. This is exactly why political people frequently show up in the series, only to be utterly helpless in his presence.

The anime is still a toned-down version of what the manga depicted Trump’s parody version doing after seeing Yujiro.

The manga takes the gag a step further

In contrast to Keisuke Itagaki's original manga, Netflix's adaptation of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai is actually more subdued, as those familiar with the manga quickly pointed out. After learning about the long-standing custom of US presidents pledging not to meddle with the Ogre, the Trump imitation in the manga boasts about refusing to acknowledge Yujiro's authority. But as soon as Yujiro steps in front of him, his confidence jumps right out of the window.

When the character realizes he has no chance of standing against Yujiro, he panics and quickly takes a Bible and recites the oath. One of the manga's most iconic political gags, the exaggerated sequence is frequently recounted among Baki readers. The second part of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai arc is currently streaming on Netflix.
