With Enola Holmes 2 in line, let’s take a look at five sneaky clues dropped towards the end of the first movie that sets the base for the second.

Enola Holmes 2 to explore the relationship between Enola, Sherlock, and Eudoria

One of the prime reasons why the fans will be excited about Enola Holmes is to watch the reunion of the titular character with Sherlock. Towards the end, the famous detective shows his interest in mentoring his sister and leaves a message for her as clues. However, Enola is determined to follow her own path and makes the same clear to her brother by leaving her pinecone, Dash. Although there is no possibility of Enola and Sherlock meeting anytime soon, the viewers will be hoping for the two to collaborate to work together—one of the first things the last film’s ending sets up for the sequel.

The first movie also showcases a reunion between Enola and her mother. Eudoria meets her daughter for a brief time by following the coded messages left by Enola in the newspaper. Though the mother has to leave, she advises the protagonist to make her own way and reach out to her in the time of distress. The fans didn’t see much of Eudoria in the first franchise, however, her teachings and principles were always there with the female lead. More of the mother-daughter scenes can be expected in the second franchise, perhaps something about the suffrage movement, as set up by the first movie’s ending.

Enola – A detective, a decipherer, and a finder of lost souls

If we go by the novels, Enola Holmes 2 should explore the journey of Enola The Perditorian. Enola refers to herself as a finder of loved ones lost. There are many instances in the novel where the protagonist takes the job of finding missing persons. So, perhaps, in the second outing, we could expect Enola to work alone on such cases, maybe even the biggest one involving Sherlock’s partner.

In the first film, Enola’s eldest brother Mycroft isn’t fond of her. He is constantly trying to grow her into a proper young lady by sending her into Miss Harrison’s Finishing School for Young Ladies. The fans are definitely curious to know if Mycroft will continue playing the role of an antagonist or if there will be some change in his attitude. Towards the end of the book series, Enola’s skills impress Mycroft, who offers to fund her further education. So, it’s not inconceivable that Enola Holmes 2 will have the redemption arc for this character.

Last but not least, there was some sizzling chemistry between Enola and Lord Tewkesbury. This was something that wasn’t a part of the novel. Therefore, it will be fascinating to see how the writers play with the love life of the protagonist while not hampering her resolve to find her own path.
