Meghan Markle caught her debut role in 2002 when she appeared briefly in General Hospital. Since then, Markle has strived to become a well-known actress. Her struggling days before she finally landed the hit law series Suits is not a subject of mystery to many. From 2002 to 2011, Meghan Markle dedicated almost a decade to becoming a reputed Hollywood actress. And she did just that. Not only was Markle cheered on TV as Rachel Zane, but she made her way to elite Hollywood. Becoming friends with Anna Wintour, among others. However, when she married Prince Harry, as gathered by Piers Morgan’s consistent thrashing, she had to leave her social life behind.

When Meghan Markle joined Prince Harry at the royal wedding and rode the carriage, she became the Duchess of Sussex. And as a royal, despite the gazillion cameras that took snippets of her, there was hardly any conversation. Therefore, her first official interview mattered a lot not only because she was an actress, but also because she was a member of the royal family.

It seems like the Harry & Meghan docuseries had been foreshadowed a long time ago. After Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in 2018 through a private wedding ceremony of 2,000 people sans Thomas Markle, fans rarely heard from her. Until ITV sat her down for an interview about the late Queen Elizabeth II. The program was titled Queen of the World and consisted of interviews with the royal family, staff, and the Queen herself about her global influence and Commonwealth legacy.

While not a lot was heard by Meghan Markle as she became a royal, she made sure to be seen. One such extraordinary detail was when the Duchess of Sussex had the flowers from the Commonwealth woven into her wedding dress, as revealed in the documentary.

A lot has changed since the time Meghan Markle was rarely heard as she joined the royal clan. She and her husband, Prince Harry, have since then released their own docuseries on Netflix. This time, they talked about much more than just her wedding dress.

This was only possible because they resigned as ‘senior members’ of the royal family in 2020. Markle, who was a patron of London’s National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, continued her patron work until 2021. But that is all for the Sussexes and the Commonwealth.
