The Witcher has been under fire since Henry Cavill announced his exit from the show. Fans have been bashing the creators and stating that they should have convinced him to stay. Viewers who have watched all the seasons of the fantasy drama got attached to his version of Geralt. They loved the British superstar with that stern look while wielding his shiny sword; they found him as the best incarnation. Alas! the role has been turned over to Liam Hemsworth and he will take the lead from season 4.

The majority of the audience has been against this casting and does not want to see the Australian actor or anyone else instead of Cavill. However, there are some experienced actors who could have fitted the role much better after his exit.

Games of Thrones was undoubtedly one of the most astounding fantasy sagas fans ever got to watch on the small screen. The show became great for many things and one of them was its extraordinary ensemble of actors. Given that the lores of both series are not miles apart, some fans strongly believe that these Game of Thrones actors can play Geralt in The Witcher.

Kit Harington

Kit Harington does not need an introduction when it comes to the fantasy genre. The actor cemented his place in show business, by playing the iconic role of Jon Snow. His impeccable acting brought out the best version of the character, amazingly portraying his changing arcs in the story.

From being a nobody to the rightful king of the Targaryen line, he made Snow one of the most memorable characters. Not to mention, he got nominated twice for Emmy Awards for his performance in the show.

All these characteristics and his already massive fanbase in the fantasy genre would have made him the perfect Geralt.

Richard Madden

Next in line comes Richard Madden, the actor who rose to fame as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones. During this time on the acclaimed series, he earned a pair of SAG Award nominations. His masterful acting and the way he carried Robb Stark as the moral compass of the show until the end won millions of hearts.

After basking for years in a world filled with politics, back-stabbing, bloodshed, and monsters, it would have been easy for him to play the mutant in The Witcher. While he may not have secured the spot left by Henry Cavill in the fantasy series, he seems to be moving swiftly towards another franchise that almost had Cavill’s name on it.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Last but certainly not least, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has shown his remarkable talents for seven years in the HBO drama. The character Jamie Lannister was famous as an undefeated warrior in the show. His fighting prowess and irresistible charm were something that the actor brought to life in the most amazing way possible. The role of the White Wolf could have been an amazing chance to show fans a fatherly side of the 53-year-old.

In Game of Thrones, fans could only get glimpses of his good side, but the Netflix show would have made it evident. Not to forget his experience in the genre which would have helped him to carry the mantle of Geralt. However, nothing can be done now because the creators already made their decision. Fans can only hope that Liam Hemsworth rises to the occasion.
