In case you have been living under a rock, Kate Middleton and Prince William just went on their big United States tour. And call it karma or coincidence, but the tour happened to be just in sync with the release of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated Netflix documentary. The Royal couple attended the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony. Much like any tour that Prince William and Kate Middleton go on, her outfit was a major topic of discussion.

But this time it was not for the right reasons. Furthermore, Kate has always been known for her picture-perfect looks. More often than not, Meghan Markle was booed and compared to her, as people took Kate Middleton more seriously as a princess. However, her latest choice of outfit at the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony has become the core of multiple memes on the Internet.

The Earthshot awards are an annual event that honors people who have contributed to the repair and well-being of the planet. Unlike most awards that have a red carpet, sticking to the eco-friendly theme, Prince William’s prestigious awards opt for a green carpet.

Moreover, in order to not make a mockery out of themselves and also send a good message, the attendees are advised to not go for lavish looks and wear eco-friendly dresses. And looks like Kate Middleton has taken the “Go Green!” slogan a bit too seriously because she came to the green carpet dressed like a green screen.

Well no, being the Princess of Wales she did not exactly wrap herself in a green screen but wore a dress gown that imitated one.

And just like that Kate Middleton who wears the crown not just as the Princess of Wales but also for being the best dressed became a meme.

Thank the Lords, that the dress gown was not the same shade of green as the carpet and she would have camouflaged herself. Twitter users called out her stylist for doing her dirty.  Prince William and Kate Middleton headed for their US tour under much scrutiny owing to the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary. However, the royals seemed to get along just fine with the people.
