A recent example is Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell starrer Spirited. Now, his other great novel, Great Expectations, is also adapted into a TV show starring the Oscar-winning actress, Olivia Colman.

The novel tells the story of a boy named Pip. An escaped convict, Abel Magwitch, contacts Pip, and it changes his life. An eccentric lady named Miss Havisham calls Pip into her home. She wanted Pip to marry her adopted daughter, Estella. Now, Pip needs to make a decision about his life. The exciting and thrilling story of the life of Pip will see a little darker take in the BBC show, as reported by Hackney Gazette.

Steven Knight, who is also the creator of the fan-favorite show, Peaky Blinders starring Cillian Murphy, is the creator of the BBC show, Great Expectations. Apart from the BBC show adaptation, there have been films as well based on the same classic novel.
