Henry Cavill‘s run as the Geralt of Rivia finally came to an end. Perhaps one of the finest performances on TV, the British star left behind a legacy that will always be remembered. Throughout The Witcher, Cavill gave countless memorable moments and scenes to the fans. Furthermore, even on the latest installment of the show, the Enola Holmes star did not fail to amaze the audience. While Season 3 delivered numerous iconic scenes, there was one in particular that went through a major change before the release.

As we all know, Season 4 will mark the beginning of a new era for theWitcherverse fans. Their favorite actor would no longer star as Geralt in the upcoming seasons. While the fans are surely upset about the same, Season 3 of the show gave them numerous memorable scenes to reminisce upon. However, recently it has been revealed that the last scene featuring Cavill as Geralt was actually planned differently. Reports by Redanian Intelligence confirmed the same. Back in 2022 spring when the series had begun filming, rumors were that one of the final scenes of the season would feature Milva helping Geralt while Cahir stood afar and watched. However, in the original version, we never saw Cahir following his confrontation with Ciri.

Meanwhile, in the final scene that the audience saw, could have been where Milva helps Geralt with the last Nilfgaardian soldiers. Following that, Geralt along with Jaskier and Milva ride their horses towards the sunset. While originally the cameras would have turned to Cahir, it never actually happened.

Moreover, it is hard to confirm whether the scene was actually shot. At the same time, the creator’s decision to change the original ending does make sense. The Witcher: Blood Origin also followed a similar arc with its ending. As Ciri stood in Cinatra, Avallac’h stared from afar. While Cavill’s run might have come to an end with the scene, there is a lot the fans can look forward to.

Henry Cavill’s exit will surely leave a hole in the fans’ hearts. Even though the actor did an incredible job and his run as the Geralt is over, there are some exciting developments for the fan base. Firstly, there is a new spinoff series based on the Rats, The Witcher: Riff Raff, that will be making its way to the screens.

On the other hand, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is also far in production. Apart from that, Liam Hemsworth will be taking charge as the new Geralt of Rivia in Season 4. Reports by The Witcher fan site also suggested that season 4 will begin production in 2024. However, as of late, there is no release date.
