Kanye West does not even need to be present at the Superbowl to trend anymore. The Superbowl XVII’s halftime show set the internet on fire, with Rihanna making a comeback post-pregnancy. With a grand entrance, the new mother had the stadium cheering on, as she sang all of her hits throughout the years. While it was a blazing performance, fans felt that the stage deserved more than her solo.

West has become a topic of sensation due to his controversies, but the singer’s musical talents are missed despite it all. While Rihanna is trending on Twitter for her halftime show, Twitterati also wanted and wished for Ye to make his presence.

Kanye West may be infamous for his controversies, but he kept fans in anticipation as they hoped he would join Rihanna on stage. Fans on Twitter can’t help but compare and mention how West should’ve performed at the show. Riri even included the song ‘All of the Lights’ on her performance list, a superhit number that was her collaboration with Ye and Kid Cudi more than a decade ago. While Ye was absent, fans believe that Rihanna’s red attire and the song choice were made to show support for the ‘Donda’ singer.

Fans miss Kanye West during Rihanna’s performance

Following Rihanna’s powerful performance, fans took to Twitter to express how much they missed Kanye West’s presence after she sang ‘All of Lights.’ One fan was upset over the Diamonds singer singing that same song, without having Ye on the stage. Ye loyalists were in anticipation of his joining the performance but were let down to know that it wasn’t going to happen. A lot of speculations surfaced about this year being his first time performing at the event.

Both Rihanna and West have previously refused to perform at the Superbowl halftime show. Ye refused to perform for not being paid enough. But the singer is still trending for the second time in a row, although he was present at the stadium last year.

His children joined the singer as he wore a black mask during the 2022 Superbowl and trended on the Internet. Beyonce took on the stage that year, singing her hits. While Ye has never performed, he famously appeared in the Pepsi Superbowl advertisement.
