What Happened to Ye’s Twice the Size of NYC Middle East City Plans? Is DROAM City Still in the Plan?
Ye, aka Kanye West, and his ambitions have always been a bit difficult for others to understand. Whether it was him trying to turn his Malibu house into a playground with a slide and trampolines, instead completely messing up an architectural masterpiece, or aiming for the presidency, it is hard to predict what the rapper will chase after next. Last year, Ye revealed his plans to build a self-sustaining city in the Middle East for the first time, and over time, fans started to think he might have let that idea slip through the cracks. But, maybe not.
Ye has seemingly not given up on that dream. He recently dusted off that ambition, and it looks like something huge is cooking in his mind.

Last year, Ye aimed to build a city four times the size of Paris, covering about 100,000 acres in the Middle East, with the project titled YZY DROAM. He was even on the lookout for project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to help with his ambitious endeavor. Unfortunately, that plan did not come through. Recently, after buying a Beverly Hills mansion for a hefty price of $35 million, Ye revisited those old plans. Following the purchase, he took to his Instagram stories to share an overhead image of the property- not once, but twice.
In the first post, Ye showcased just the property itself, but in the second image, he added some colorful doodles along with the term “DROAM.” Soon rumors began to circulate about whether Ye might bring his Middle East plans to the Westside of L.A. He did not come right out and confirm his plans, but his neighbors in the North Beverly Park gated community certainly had their opinions about the speculation.
Ye’s new neighbors believe that Ye should take a step back on his plans, as they see them as a bit out of touch with reality.

TMZ recently chatted with several neighbors of the $35 million mansion Ye just bought and asked them about his latest Instagram hint about DROAM city. It turns out the rapper's new neighbors are not exactly on board with his supposed plans. They made it clear that they do not want any of that happening in their backyard, with one person even calling Ye "delusional."
The neighbors also pointed to Ye’s destroyed Malibu mansion as an example of his chaotic and delusional ways. One neighbor even suggested that the best thing for them would be for Ye to always be on vacation instead of trying to make architectural disasters and ruin the neighborhood. But if Ye has really set his sights on this, it is doubtful that the neighbors’ concerns will change his mind.
