When it is awards season, Taylor Swift goes on to collect shiny trophies like Infinity Stones and proudly displays them in her luxurious home, as once seen in Vogue's 73 Questions. From Grammy to MTV, there is barely any music award in Hollywood that Swift has not taken home in her decorated career of nearly two decades. As the awards season goes in full swing, the pop royalty has once again been awarded one of the shiniest trinkets in the form of the BMI Pop Award Songwriter of the Year.

Recently, Taylor Swift has been named the BMI Pop Award Songwriter of the year. The songstress was awarded this accolade for penning seven of her songs including ‘Don’t Blame Me’, ’Down Bad’, ‘Fortnight’, ‘I Can Do it with a Broken Heart’ ‘Is It Over Now?’, ‘Now That We Don’t Talk’ and ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me’. These songs belong to different albums of Swift, ranging from ‘Reputation’ to last release ‘Folklore’. The news was also shared by the official Taylor Swift updates page on X.

This is not the first Broadcast Music Inc. achievement for Taylor Swift, who to date has gone on to collect a mind-blowing total of 72 BMI awards. Her first one came way back in 2009 with the BMI President's Award. Last year also she was awarded the same Songwriter of the Year by BMI for 10 of BMI’s most-performed songs of 2023. This year, she continued the tradition but did not step out to the event held in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, which also acknowledged other artists like Benson Boone and others.

As Taylor Swift once again went on to wear the BMI crown despite her continued absence from the public, fans showered her with much praise.

One of Taylor Swift’s strongest USPs is her phenomenal songwriting skills. Well known for telling the world of her love affairs and heartbreaks through her well-crafted melodies, the lyrical sorceress has always been appreciated by fans and critics alike for this special talent. Besides singing accolades, her songwriting has often earned her awards and nominations for being a top-notch lyricist. The BMI recognition once again brought her fans' love over the internet, as comments showered praises on their pop queen.

Love, love, and only love was found in the comments for Swift.

The singer continues to be MIA, only setting foot outside for limited events like a special Mother’s Day lunch with her mother and her boyfriend’s family. But her absence has no effect on her musical accomplishments, which continue to take her places and bag her well-deserved wins.
