With “Massive Depression” Hitting an All-Time Low, Jada Pinkett Smith Recalls How She Struggles Accidents and Suicidal Thoughts

Twenty-six years ago, Jada Pinkett Smith walked naively down the aisle with Will Smith, with limited foresight about the fact that her marriage was going to be such a huge point of fascination for people. Over the years, she has been under a lot of scrutiny owing to the allegations of psychedelic usage and her strong opinions on polarizing subjects. The actress, however, promised to address all the allegations and fans’ intrigue in her upcoming memoir, Worthy.
During the recent promotional interview for her book, Pinkett-Smith opened up about her journey from a drug seller in the streets to Baltimore to becoming a popular face in Tinseltown. The 52-year-old also talked about the mental health struggles she faced in her 40s.

A week ahead of her book’s release, Jada Pinkett Smith broke her silence on the topics regarding her family that fans just cannot get enough of. The ‘Bleed All Over Me’ singer started off by addressing the infamous Oscar fiasco of her husband, about which she kept her quiet for eighteen months. Following that, she shared the dark period of her life that brought her to the brink of self-harm. The actress told People that she could not think about anything “besides death” until she found a shortcut to deal with her “massive depression”.

The actress went on to talk about the time when she came across the Ayahuasca ceremony, which involved the usage of plant-based drugs. These drugs helped the Red Table Talk host in getting over her suicidal thoughts. Pinkett-Smith revealed that her husband and children “as adults” also took the aid of the drug. Apart from this, she also shared how her husband became her drug, leading to abandoning her mental health because she felt like she was “cured”.
Jada Pinkett Smith covered a detailed discussion on all these topics in her upcoming memoir, Worthy. The actress posted an elaborate Instagram post to let her fans in on what she is going to unveil in the book.
