In a video posted to the charity's YouTube account, Prince Harry made it clear that WellChild remains the charity he looks forward to most every year. The Duke of Sussex spoke directly about the upcoming WellChild Awards, an event he has supported as patron for nearly two decades.

"Every year, one of the moments I look forward to the most is spending time with the children and families that I meet through the WellChild Awards." Prince Harry said as he explained that the awards recognize young people living with complex medical conditions, along with families and carers whose lives are shaped by constant responsibility and resilience.

Speaking from his Montecito home shared with Meghan Markle, fresh off turning an NBA game into a celebrity-heavy night out, Prince Harry stressed that the ceremony celebrates far more than the children alone. He urged the public in WellChild's video to nominate individuals whose daily acts of care often go unnoticed across the United Kingdom.

While WellChild holds a special place for Prince Harry, philanthropy has long been a defining through line of his public life.

Prince Harry has directed much of his charitable work toward veterans, most visibly through the Invictus Games Foundation, which he founded to support wounded and injured service members. The initiative uses sport as rehabilitation while restoring confidence, purpose, and community.

His more recent philanthropic efforts are largely channeled through the Archewell Foundation, co-founded with Meghan Markle. The organization focuses on mental health, digital safety, and humanitarian relief, backing projects designed to create measurable, long-term social impact.
