After a rocky ride through Phases Four and Five, Marvel finally hit a home run with Thunderbolts*, a gritty, emotional, action-packed return to form. Directed by Jake Schreier and fueled by a powerhouse cast, the film pulled in a strong $376.8 million worldwide and earned a fiery 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. In a candid chat with David Harbour for Interview Magazine, Scarlett Johansson dropped a surprising revelation as she asked Marvel to remove her Executive Producer credit from Thunderbolts*. During their exchange, Harbour joked that her character was practically the "seventh Thunderbolt*," to which Johansson quickly clarified, "I asked to have my credit removed because I was not involved." Although she had ties to Black Widow and connections to returning characters, Johansson made it clear that she had no hand in the mission.

Some may assume Scarlett Johansson’s decision signals MCU fatigue or a snub at Thunderbolts*, but that theory does not hold. In her Interview, Johansson laughed off that idea. When David Harbour teased, “You hated the movie that much?” she shut it down with humor and warmth, later telling him she was genuinely proud of his performance in the film. While Johansson may be stepping back behind the scenes, she is still turning heads in public, though a recent sighting had fans doing a double-take, barely recognizing her.

Scarlett Johansson channels Princess Diana with her striking new makeover

On June 9, Scarlett Johansson was spotted in New York City filming Paper Tiger with co-star Miles Teller, and her look had heads turning. Gone were her signature caramel waves—in their place, a voluminous, retro curly bob straight out of the 1980s. Dressed in muted tones with a pop of fuchsia makeup, Johansson looked nearly unrecognizable. The transformation was so striking, fans could not help but compare her to a young Princess Diana.

In another scene, Scarlett Johansson wore a crisp white blazer over a blue knit top, paired with grey slacks and brown open-toe heels—delivering vintage power dressing with a modern twist. While fans enjoy an unrecognisable celebrity hair transformation, it is most likely that her look is achieved with a wig. Still, Johansson’s ever-evolving style and recent ASMR content nearly broke the internet. And now, as she revealed the request she made to Marvel to have her name removed from the Thunderbolts* credits, she has found herself back in the spotlight once again.
