Prince Harry last met his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, at the former’s historic coronation. Calling it a meeting would be a stretch since the Sussex royal was in the town for mere hours, which he spent away from his estranged family, before joining Meghan Markle to celebrate Prince Archie’s birthday. However, only a month later, he returned to his homeland. So, did this recent trip result in a meetup between the royals?

Speculation is rife about where Prince Harry stayed during his trial appearance in the UK. But a more curious wonderment is if he met his father and brother for the first time after the coronation.

Did Prince Harry have a rendezvous with Prince William and King Charles?

The answer seems to be a no. Prince Harry certainly stayed at the royal grounds, less than a mile from his brother and father, but apparently didn’t visit either, as per Telegraph’s reports. During the short trip to submit the evidence for the ongoing phone hacking case against MGN, the Duke stayed at the Frogmore Cottage. The cottage was 700 yards from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Adelaide Cottage, where the Cambridges were during Prince Harry’s visit. Meanwhile, King Charles was in the Buckingham Palace on the second day of the Duke’s testimony in court.

Despite the proximity, Prince Harry reportedly didn’t meet his family members. Instead, he chose to stay close to his security team within the Frogmore Cottage. His having stayed at the property he previously shared with Markle before Megxit is surprising, given that the King had asked the couple to vacate the space.

Now offered to Prince Andrew, the king’s brother, the cottage was where the Sussexes first lived together after their marriage until their exit from the royal folds. Even after the exit, the property remained in the possession of the Duke and Duchess, until Spare’s release. With the release of the explosive memoir, King Charles asked the couple to forgo the property, marking the deepened rift.

Admittedly, the contents of the book only increased the distance between the king, future king, and estranged duke. This was clear in the three’s interaction during last month’s coronation ceremony.

Windsor-Sussex coronation interaction: A line drawn in the sand

When Prince Harry attended King Charles’ coronation, the reactions were mixed. Some hoped for reconciliation, while others were disheartened by the Duke’s short stay. But some royal experts predicted that the Sussex royal would probably get a cold welcome, and they were not that off the mark. While he was all smiles and was seen interacting with other royals during the ceremony, the air was frosty between him and Prince William, as it was prior to the coronation.

Prince Harry’s interaction with his father didn’t inspire any further hope. As per UK Weekly’s reports, the duke and the king had a private conversation the night before the coronation. However, the next day saw the new monarch not publicly acknowledging his grandson Prince Archie’s 4th birthday. He reportedly did give a small toast in private, however.

But this and with the increased focus on the future king’s children, one thing is clear: The Windsors are clearly moving ahead. And it doesn’t seem like the Sussexes mind one bit.
