James Gunn has eyes on a few actors to play Clark Kent in his upcoming DC movie. In the meantime, some fans cannot keep themselves from speaking about how Cavill’s Superman never actually made them believe Clark Kent and Superman were completely distinct entities.

Jonathan and Martha Kent raised Clark among humans. Although from his early childhood days, Clark noticed the differences that made him different from the humans. However, after fully recognizing his abilities and knowing his truth, Clark managed to stay hidden in the world of humans. These two personalities of an individual were extremely opposed to each other.
Fans noticed how the Enola Holmes actor could not distinguish the difference between these two. Recently, a picture of Cavill as Clark Kent resurfaced, and the discussion reignited. Fans have their own opinions about it.
Fans think Henry Cavill could not portray the difference between Clark Kent and Superman
Obviously, it was Kent’s alter ego who was extremely different from his human-like self. Therefore, to be able to distinguish between the two distinct personalities should have been on the screen quite visibly, as fans discussed. However, while discussing the differences, some fans blamed it on Zack Snyder and his take on the DC superhero. Others shared how Christopher Reeve portrayed Superman and Clark Kent with merely his body language and his voice only.

Yeah because Snyder didn’t understand the character

Ngl, that's very true. Loved Henry's Superman but I'm really hoping James Gunn takes a more Chrisopher Reeve approach and has his personality, posture, and physical appearance change a bit between either facade

Reeve feels more like he is “really” superman and is faking being Clark. Cavill feels like he is “really” Clark, and is faking being Superman.

Your right but I put it down to bad writing not a bad actor Henry was a great choice but the Writer and director don't understand the character. Christopher Reeves proved that with just a pair of classes and a change in how he held himself that is enough of a disguise

Better script would've done it justice,Zack was a great director and Cavill was a great superman, just defeated by poor script

I love cavill’s superman but he really didn’t get the Clark Kent persona right. Clark is supposed to be a dorky nerd guy in the offices while his version is more of a serious journalist in a drama.

Fans also talked about how the 40-year-old could have done it if he had a powerful script. While some people also argued that it was never a focal point for the film. Fans also appreciated Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of the DC hero. And others expressed their hope for a better adaptation of the Kryptonian in the upcoming DC movie as well.
Because he's obviously based on the post-Crisis version of the character where Clark and Superman were the same person, Superman was just a different suit Clark (the true person) would wear.
The Silver Age "Clark is totally different" take is only one version, not the ONLY one.
